I have a problem. It's about sweaty armpits. :]
I've heard somewhere that if you are an active person, you sweat more because your body is trying to cool itself or something of that sort. I don't sweat perversely, in an obnoxious manner, but... I do sweat more than I would like too. I sweat on my nose and my armpits. So, I picked up one of those clinical deodorants from Walmart to see if they really worked. I use Dove shampoos and soaps and I really love Dove, so I decided to try the Dove one. First, it smells amazing-- it's rose scented. I love it and it seems to help a lot. However, the weather has been getting cold lately. It even snowed this morning so I have no reason to sweat, but overall, at the end of the day, I don't see myself sweating as much. So far so good. We'll see how it goes during the summer and spring.
Have you guys seen photos from the New York Fashion Show? I've been getting updates on my Facebook about the NARS makeup artistry during shows. It's amazing. Everything is amazing. I'm just waiting until I have time to pick up some bright colored lipsticks and blush to put it on my face! :] I'm thinking of getting orange or a bright corally orange. Excited! I just wish the weather would lighten up. The weather was sooo nice a couple of weeks ago, but what has happened?!

New life??!!
Sorry! I haven't really updated this week. I actually started a new job working at the cosmetics and fragrance department at my local mall. I am super excited because I get to play with makeup and fragrances all day. However, since I am starting out my training sessions are time consuming! Aside from this and school and my teaching gig, it's been hard to find time to breathe! But I love it and I'm excited.
Here's a quick post:
I finally got around to buying the unii palette and trying to depot all my makeup for the first time... Without heating my packages. I spent about an hour on youtube trying to find the best way to depot my makeup. I wasn't too happy with the idea of burning plastic and inhaling it while doing so. I decided to depot my makeup with rubbing alcohol. Sad to say that I broke one of my favorite Wet n Wild palette that I bought a couple of years ago. However good news is that I found it online. I practiced with my drugstore makeup and ended up throwing it away. I ended up cleaning my makeup stash-- throwing away old things (because I messed it up) and keeping the newer ones. It was an exciting adventure.... Kind of.. I'm waiting for my unii palette to arrive now! :) Happy Fridays.
(as you can see my desk was a mess and I almost messed up my NARS eyeshadow. I did shed a tear and did the same thing to my MAC powder blush... But I am getting better...(hopefully) by the way, can you spot my Jason Wu for Target tag?? Post up soon! )

Perfect Valentines Day Kiss
This post is dedicated to my best friend in the whole wide world. :]
A couple of weeks ago, I went on a craze for lipstick. I bought 6 different shades of lipstick-- some of which I ended up loving and others were eh...
The list: Loreal's Fairest Nude, MAC's Full Speed, NYX's Fig, Circe, and B52, and Loreal's Colour Riche Balm.
I'm ready for the spring! Even though the weather feels like spring, I'm still nervous that the weather here is be fickle minded and change for the worse-- colder. It seems like this spring, its all about the nauticals, florals, and bright colors! I loveeee! So, a few weeks ago, I was in the neighborhood of MAC, and I picked up a color that I thought was wearable for spring 2012. At first, I wanted a coral/orange color, but there wasn't one that I liked so I picked up MAC's Sheen Supreme in Full Speed.
I love the texture of this lip color. It doesn't dry out my lips and it's really shiny and pigmented, which I love. It's the perfect pink for spring and I'm super excited to wear this out!
I was watching one of my favorite Youtube makeup gurus, when I stumbled upon Loreal's Fairest Nude. I've been in search for the perfect nude lip color that doesn't entirely wash out my lips. When I found this lip color, I was super excited because it (in theory) was the perfect lip color I was looking for. It turns out, that it WAS the perfect nude color I was looking for. I've been wearing it almost every day since I bought it. It works with anything and you can use this as a base and put a pop of color on top of the lipstick and it still works.
I was reluctant to buy these NYX lipsticks. I didn't know what color it would turn out to be and for some reason I thought they would dry out your lips. The colors did turn out differently than I expected, but the texture of these lip colors... Wow. I was surprised. It's moisturizing and creamy, but as time passes, I noticed that it did dry out a little bit and you could see my cracked lips! :( But, for the price I paid for them, I thought it was worth it. I just wish I could have tried out the colors before I bought them. I wish my Ulta would restock the NYX section... :T I've been asking for weeks to see if they restocked and every time I get a different answer.
I got the color Circe thinking it would be a pretty nude color, but it wasn't. It makes me look like I have foundation all over my lips. I decided I'm going to use it as a base to nude out a lot of my other bright lip colors that I have.
For quite awhile, Revlon's Lip Butters were the hot deal. I got two of them and I liked them, but at the same time it wasn't what I expected. The one that I got, Peach Parfait, had bits of glitter in them and it didn't help to hydrate my lips as I expected too. I was at CVS when I saw that Loreal was having a sale. I saw that they had come out with something that was similar to Revlon's Lip Butters-- Loreal Colour Riche Balm. I decided to give it a try. It's super duper hydrating. I feel like I have Vaseline on my lips. If you don't like that feeling, you probably won't like this, but I use Vaseline as my lip balm so I'm used to it. As far as the "Colour Riche part" it's not really rich in color. The color is super light and doesn't really show up, but I like it because it's so hydrating!
Here are some swatches on my arm:
To end, I gave myself a makeover with spring in mind... :] I used the MAC lip color, but for some reason my camera didn't give it enough justice.

2012, starting off right
Lately, I've been having really bad skin problems on my face. My "bad" skin problems may not be as bad as you may think, but considering I've never had a problem with my skin for 20+ years, it's pretty bad for me. I've getting red bumps all over my forehead and also my lower cheeks and my chin area. I can cover it with light foundations, but it doesn't help that I've also been getting dry blotchy areas here and there with my red bumps. Talk about bad luck... The dry areas make my foundation turn flaky and it just looks diseased. I was reading online about my symptoms and it seems as though I could have digestion problems. It is often that problems with our stomach can show up on our face-- like eating greasy foods, not drinking enough water, etc can cause acne. So, I'm going to try "detoxing" my body for about two days with fresh fruits and lemon water all day and then try eating healthy with exercise and about 8 cups of water a day. I know this is going to take a lot, but enough is enough when I start having skin problems (not only on my face) after 20+ years of my life. :( I'll keep updating my progress as I start this this weekend! Hopefully, it'll help-- fingers crossed.
Am I the only person excited about all of the spring 2012 collections? I haven't had the chance to stop by Sephora to look at all the spring 2012 collections, but the emails have started to trickle in and some of my favorite makeup gurus on youtube have been reviewing them. The vibrant colors are getting me excited! Not only that, but... Jason Wu for Target this Sunday has got me really excited. I've been waiting for a month now since I saw it on nitrolicious.com. I love Jason Wu, but just wasn't able to afford it... unfortunately still a poor college student. But with Jason Wu for Target, I can buy it! Some of the pieces that I'm thinking of picking up!
There's so many more outfits that I'm in love with, but it's going to be hard to buy all of them... If you go to Target's Facebook page, they have a preview of more of the outfits that are coming out.
Speaking of vibrant colors, I just happened to come upon the spring 2012 collection of Essie colors and I am definitely going to buy one or two of them. They are so pretty! Reminds me of Easter eggs. I like the bright orange and light green!

I love this whole outfit! Down to the clutch. |
I like this outfit, but I'm in love with the blouse more. :] |
I'm not "IN LOVE" with this outfit, but my sister picked it out for me. |
This outfit is perfect for spring. The color of the red blouse makes my heart melt. |

5:30 AM wake up call!.... fail.
I've been trying to wake up every morning at 5:30 AM so I could squeeze in a morning exercise routine before class. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to wake up. I don't know what it is... that I just can NOT wake up... It's frustrating.. :( Any ideas?
So, yesterday, I was browsing through the net and I found good and bad reviews on Neutrogena's healthy skin liquid makeup. My sister had told me that it made her break out, but I'm not the type to break out. I decided to give it a try... I'm currently sitting at my desk typing this entry in an "orange" manner. It was way to dark for me and honestly, I'm not a fan. As soon as I put it on, it just didn't "wow!" me. I'm going to take it back tomorrow and return it.
I'm going to start taking fish oil pills. Apparently, they're good for you and your skin + hair. We'll see how that goes. I've never been too particular about taking vitamins, but I have read that it really does help. I'll update on the progress as time passes.
Guess what this is! :]

Accessorize on Jan. 30
<--- I accidentally left these bracelets out in the sun on a window sill. I got them this summer at H&M. It's unfortunate that there are NO H&M's here. Can I cry now?
When I was in New York this winter, my friend and I went in search for the discount Marc Jacobs store. I had heard that it changed a lot and that it had moved, but I figured I'm here in New York, might as well check it out. So after hours of searching throughout NoHo, we finally spotted the new discount Marc Jacobs store in mid bite of my Magnolia red velvet cupcake. We were standing in front of the store. I had gone a few years ago, but when I went inside, it had changed so much. I wasn't surprised, but disappointed that they had fewer accessory items and more clothes and shoes. Of course, I would have been happy if I was planning on buying these things, but I wasn't. Not for the trip and hours to be a waste, I bought a necklace with my friend. It's supposed to say "I love you" (I think...)
For some reason, asymmetrical things really grab my attention. I have many pairs of earrings that are not the same on both sides of my ears. Does that sentence even make any sense? :]
I've been testing out this foundation combo-- 2 layers of Bobbi Brown's skin foundation setting it with MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish powder. Mainly, I've been looking for oily-ness (is that a word?). Looks like my nose is shiny... I've never been the oily type. I knew I had combination skin, but it was more towards the drier side. I guess... things change as I get older. My skin was flawless when I was younger, but now... I have major redness. I am so sad. :( It may also be because I haven't been really eating in a healthy manner and exercising like I should... Oh, and drinking water..... (oops) well, I guess we'll see what happens.
My sister picked this one out. I loved the flower design on it. The band was darker, but like I said before... I left it out in the sun.. Oops. |

Hiatus broken- good afternoon! Happy New Years!
How was everyone's New Years?? It's been a while and forever. For many months now, it's been hard to find the motivation to write and to be happy with myself. It's been quite a journey the past year and I've got to say that I've learned a lot about myself-- the good and the bad. I have started to make changes, of course for the better. At the end of this year, 2012, I hope that I will be happier with me. Do I sound sad and helpless? I hope not... If anything, last year I learned that no matter how much I wanted to stop time and live in that one single moment, everything, everyone passed me and left me behind. It's time to catch up with everyone else and basically face reality. This year I hope to find what I want with my life and basically what I want to do for the rest of my life. So, I thought what better way to motivate myself to keep this up than to document my everyday life? I mean the title of this blog is all natural. So from the good to the bad, let's tackle 2012.
